:bulletblue: Aeryn let out a small sigh. It'd been a slow week, and not many people had come into her shop as of late. She made a small stitch in the fabric she was holding. It was a sash, and the fabric was a pleasant color, but she'd never wear it. She would hang it up in her shop, and some beautiful girl would come to buy it. Setting the sash down on the table, she stood up from her stool. She walked from the front of her shop and into the back room, where her supplies where--and where she slept. Picking up another spool of thread. Making her way back to the front, she settled back down onto her stool to continue her work.

:bulletred: Shira was disgusted when her latest experiment ruined her best dress. She supposed it was what she got for wearing such finery and a necessary sacrifice for her art. Still, Shira lamented that the majority of the shops she stopped by had no taste. Nothing of value. Cheap stitching and cheap fabric. Better to be put on a filthy mule than on her body. As she walked down the street her eyes were drawn to the window of a little shop.

Now this, this looked intriguing. The colors, some of her favorites, hung in the windows and it didn't look like the cheap wool or cloth found elsewhere, yes this was worth a stop. Shira entered the store.

"Hello? Is anyone here?" The vulture gave a friendly call as she peeked inside.

:bulletblue: Aeryn had only done a few stitches before the noise of a little twinkling bell distracted her from her work, "Oh, hello." Aeryn replied. Setting down the sash and getting off her stool again, she looked over the bird animen that had come inside, this will be nice. I haven't made anything for a fellow bird, lately. "What can I do for you?" she asked, looking again at the wings of the bird.

:bulletred: Once Shira saw the owner and had her attention the vulture entered. "Ah, hello there dear. I'm looking to replace some of my wardrobe. Your shop caught my eye as I was passing by. Would you mind showing me some of your wares?" Shira looked at one of the scarves on a rack.

"I am quite fond of this red. Is there more like this? As well as black, I'm quite fond of that as well." She smiled. "Oh, my how rude of me. My name is Shira."

:bulletblue: "I wouldn't mind at all." Aeryn said with a slight nod of her head, then added "That red would look quite nice on you. And ah, I'm Aeryn. Aeryn Valoran." And with that, she swept into her shops back room. She gathered up a few dresses and sashes, then brought them back to Shira. "These aren't my best work, but they're fairly well done, I think, and they're also that shade of red you seem to like-- other than this sash here, which is coal black." She said, pointing to the darkly colored sash, then paused for a moment "Though I would have to modify anything you buy. Unless that is, you would like something custom?" she asked, smiling slightly.

:bulletred: Shira looked over the dresses. The fabrics that they were made from were lovely, the dresses themselves however were a bit of a disappointment. "Do you have anything made of this material, in red? Or perhaps black?" The vulture held up one garment in particular. "I love the way this feels and look, but would prefer it in another color if that is not too much trouble." She grinned.

:bulletblue: "I don't think-" Aeryn paused, "Well, I've been working on something, but it's simply a sash, and it's not done. It's not quite the shade of red you're looking at, it's a little bit lighter, it's a pleasant color though." Aeryn moved to one side of the table and moved the needles and such off of it, and picked up the sash she'd been working on before Shira had come in. "Like I said, it's not done, but so far it looks pretty nice, I think." Walking back over to Shira, she handed the other animen the lightly colored red sash, and looked over her work as she did so. The little swirls she was stitching glinted softly in the light, she was happy with her hands steadiness.

:bulletred: Shira made a sound in the back of her throat akin to a purr. "My, my, this is magnificent. However did you manage this stitching." Shira's eyes were drawn to the way it glittered the light. "It's a bit lighter than what I'm looking for, but if there is more like this, or even more to come then I can certainly made an expection." The vulture turned the garment over in her hands. Testing the fabric against her skin and imagining what it could go with.

:bulletblue: "Thank you. It takes steady hands, and lots of patience." Aeryn said, dipping her head. "There may be more, but it depends on how things go. It takes a lot of work, and I'd prefer not to do more than a sash for no reason but to hang in on a shelf and hope someone will buy it." She replied, "If someone wanted me to make them something with stitching like this, I would be fine with that, but I wouldn't do it for nothing. It takes a lot of time and effort."

:bulletred: "Oh I understand completely, such work should never be wasted." She looked over the sash then smiled. "If I may my dear, I have a suggestion. I shall purchase this sash and perhaps. Should you have the time mind you. Would you perhaps be interested in making me a few outfits? I have just the thing to go with this stash at home."

:bulletblue: Aeryn dipped her head again in her opinion, yes indeed, work like that should never be wasted. "Once I finish it, absolutely, I would love to send it home with someone who seems to have excellent taste." She said smiling softly, then became slightly more business-like "What sort of outfits? Casual, formal?" pausing she looked Shira over, "Perhaps a dress."

:bulletred: "Hmm, well i like to be a bit more formal when it comes to things, however I adore functional fashions. I need to be able to work in my clothes should the need ever arise. As a healer I am always on call mind you. So a dress wouldn't necesarily be ideal miss Aeryn." The vulture gazed around the shop looking for inspiration.

:bulletblue: "Functional indeed. Healing requires function, I understand that perfectly." Aeryn agreed, and looking around the shop as she spoke, she looked once again over the six shelves on one wall, there were folded shirts on the topmost, folded dresses directly bellow the shirts, and pants bellow that. Her carefully organized shelves made her happy, however tediously she had to fold them, and refold them. Three dress forms were standing in one back corner, and her table sat near the middle of her shop, pushed against one wall. "If you don't mind it, I'll continue working on the sash while we talk." Moving to one side of the table again she settled on her stool and reached her hand out to retake the sash, "May I?"

:bulletred: "Of course," Shira handed back the sash. Her eyes were drawn to the shelves filled with potential wearables. "Hope you do not mind, if I look around for a bit." She smiled as she went over the the shelves. As always Shira was drawn to the red's and blacks. Once she was done wiht one garment she would neatly fold it back up in the manner and place it was orginally found. However, a few peices caught her eye, despite them not being the correct color. "If you have the time, I would love to be measured for an outfit. I have some ideas from your work, but would really like it better in another color." She put down the clothing.

:bulletblue: Accepting the sash repositioned it to see where she had been working, before beginning to stitch. "Not at all. Let me know if there's anything you like." Aeryn replied, looking up from her work momentarily as she did so. "We can do so just as soon as you're ready, I've got all the time in the world, it seems. And color is always an option, I'm lucky enough to have good selection." Looking back down at her work, she made another stitch, and another. Her work was slow, but it was steady.

:bulletred: "Well whenever you have a moment. No rush." Shira called from the shelves "I don't want to be a bother. I can do it today, tomorrow, next week, I am fairly open at this point." Shira ran her talons through her beard. She then clicked her beak as she looked in the mirror holding up the various garments. Imagining the various colors and designs that could be one them. She grinned, so many ideas.

:bulletblue: "No rush." Aeryn agreed, not entirely paying attention to the conversation. "Not a bother, not at all." Aeryn said pausing for a moment as she thought about what she could make for the vulture. "Red, black, cream, brown." She muttered, "Perhaps pink..." after a moment she continued to stitch, slowly watching as swirls formed on the fabric. It was somewhat therapeutic, really.

:bulletred: "No pink if you please. I adore red, but I am not fond of pink. The only pink I enjoy is the one I find on my plate." Shira put down some of the clothes and put the designs she was inerested in on the table not far from Aeryn. "No offense, I am sure you have many lovely pinks, but it is just not my color my dear tailor." Shira neatly folded the clothes on the table. "As you said no rush. I would not dare rush an artist for a painting and you are an artist when it comes to clothing, but I would like a reasonable time and I'm curious on price. Also if you would take something other than coin for payment." Shira needed to use some of the gems she had acquired.

:bulletblue: A soft laugh escaped Aeryn's beak, "Very well, miss." Looking up slightly as she looked over the clothes that Shira had places on the table. "I see I was correct; you have good taste indeed. I quite like those particular garments. And of course, no offence taken, none at all. Personally I feel the same way about a few shades of green." Tilting her head to one side, she raised one eyebrow. "Other than coin? What might you suggest?"

:bulletred: "I recently aquired some gems. I am no crafter of them, but see little use in keeping them around just for the sake of it. I purpose to give you a few of them in exchange for your work." Shira pulled out a small bag and brought out three beautiful blue sapphires. "Woudl this be enough Miss Aeryn?" The vulture turned in order to better gauge the tailor's reaction, if gems were not sufficent she would merely go to the jeweler and attempt to sell them there for the coin needed. If not this would indeed save her a trip.

:bulletblue: "Acquired? Excuse me for not being entirely trusting, miss." Aeryn asked, looking down and doing four or five stitches more before she set the sash down, then looking back up and reaching out one hand, she asked Shira another question: "May I take a look at them? I may be able to use them in something..." There was a possibility of them working in some dresses collar or another, as they were about the right size.

:bulletred: "I understand your mistrust and a more than happy to allow you to examine these gems should you wish." Shira held out the thre gems. Shira would have seriously questioned this woman's intelligence had she just blinded accepted the gems without so much as a thought. Still it was moderately annoying that the vulture was untrustworthy in the eyes of her fellow bird animen. Shria hadn't done anything in Khalla to earn such thoughts. Well nothing yet and for now she was content to keep it that way. "Do these look alright to you?" Shira smiled softly.

:bulletblue: Taking the sapphires from Shira's hand, she turned them over in her own hand a few times before looking at them a little closer. "These are wonderful. They will do just fine, thank you." Aeryn said after a few moments. Setting the three small gems on the table, she proceeded to get up from her stool. She picked up a small treen measuring tape, a piece of paper, a bottle of ink, and a pen from one side of the table, where there was also a pin cushin (complete with pins), some scissors, and a few other sewing supplies and tools a tailor would need. "If you would, miss, I'd like to get those measurements now."

:bulletred: "That would be marvelous." Shira was pleased that she didn't have to wait or go to the jeweler's. The vulture put her bag down and went to where Aeryn had indicated for her to go. "I'm so happy you have a use for those gems. I would not have wanted to burden you with items you could not use. It would have been very rude of me Miss Aeryn. Oh, and please just call me Shira." The vulture smiled.

:bulletblue: "Shira, then." Aeryn replied, smiling in response. Moving next to Shira, "Arms out to the sides, please." Aeryn wrapped the measuring tape under the armpits, the around the other birds bust. Pausing to write down the inches, she pulled the tape away for a moment before wrapping it around Shira again, this time around her rib cage. Pausing again and writing on the paper some more. This process was repeated around the waistline, the upper arm, and then under Shira's arm and over the top of her shoulder before Aeryn took a step back, "Alright could you put your feet under your shoulders, please? You can put your arms down now." After measuring around Shira's hips, Aeryn crouched slightly, wrapping the tape around her thigh and jotting another number down. Standing up straight, she put one end of the measuring tape at the center of Shira's neck, mindful of the birds wings, and then ran the tap along her shoulder and down to her wrist. Aeryn took a step back. "You may put your feet together again, we're finished. My apologies if any of the measurements were at all uncomfortable," after a brief pause Aeryn added "Shira." With a slight smile.

:bulletred: Shira obeyed whatever Aeryn asked her to do. In fact the process was so what relaxing to the vulture. A moment to clear her mind and listen to other, it was nice to just have a sort of silence around her. "It was no trouble and no discomfort at all miss Aeryn. Do not tell me the measurements though, for a fear some things are better to not be known." Shira laughed slightly.

:bulletblue: A soft laugh greeted Shira's comment. "It's nice to meet someone with a good sense of humor." Aeryn remarked as she looked over the measurements she'd taken. "I've got my fabrics in the back room, if you'd like to make a selection? And if you let me surprise you, I will sneak in pink, so I suggest we go take a look." the smile held on Aeryns face this time, rather than fading slowly as she walked. She stepped into the doorway, glancing into the back room for a moment. There were shelves all against one wall, with various assorted fabrics and spools of thread stacked on them. There were another few mannequins back here too, just like in the front. Next to the shelves, in the far corner opposite where Aeryn stood, was a simple four poster bed and a small dresser. Then, on the opposite wall from the bed, there was a long table, where there were scraps of fabric and sketches of designs that Aeryn had made. This was were she made her garments... and where she slept.

:bulletred: Shira was drawn of course to her favorites and considered Aeryn's offer. "I would like something made from these and I confess I am curious. I know what they say about curiosity, but I'm not cat so I believe I shall be safe. Let me see what you can do with a bit of pink dear tailor. Perhaps you can color me impressed." Shira put down the fabrics, she could care less about the living conditions of the tailor. She had lived in her own rough places during her travels, so it meant little to her and did not alter her perception of the bird animen what so ever.

:bulletblue: "Curiosity indeed." Aeryn murmured, dipping her head, "I will enjoy this very much, thank you." A dark brown, nearly black, caught Aeryns eye as she looked over the fabrics on the shelves. That would look nice on Shira, she thought to herself, there was a dark shade of cream next to it, they looked good together... And yes, pink would indeed be a part of this. Aeryn was confident that she could make Shira something that she would look good in.

:bulletred: "Thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing the finished product Miss Aeryn." Shira nodded. "You are welcome and I shall be by in...oh let us say a week and half, I do not wish to rush you. So, until we meet again." Shira gave a slight bow and the vulture animen headed out of the door feeling good about the transaction as well as feeling confident in her satisfaction of the end product.

:bulletblue: Aeryn dipped her head again in response, "A week and a half, then. I'll be expecting you." She replied before Shira left the store. Turning herself around, Aeryn decided to finish the sash she'd been working on, then she would find fabrics for the outfits that Shira had wanted. Walking back to the front room, then to her stool, she was suddenly glad that the week had been slow; otherwise she would struggle to finish Shira's garments by the time that had been set.
